I love Misha at JIB but we don’t know that the Daytime Emmys were the only reason he wasn’t going. Long before the nominations were announced, buzzing came from various cons that he said in M&Gs that he wouldn’t be going (supposedly because of his time with his kids if the leaks are to be believed)…so we’ve had some notice.

I don’t want to be that person but I’m going to since people keep sending me anons like this also. Our well being and emotions are NOT Misha’s responsibility. Yes it was reported quite a while ago by multiple people that he may have his kids that weekend. Maybe the reason was the Emmy’s but you know what? It doesn’t matter if there’s things that he needs to take care of or reasons he can’t be there we need to respect that and not make him responsible for lifting us up or our emotions.

I agree with @huckleberryanddean. Let’s not give too much power to our para social relationship with Misha to imply his whereabouts will determine the enjoyment of Jibcon, and it’s Misha’s obligation to be there for us because we pay or we love him too much. Specially, and I’m sure for the rest of Cons or via SM. There will be people “expressing” their disappointment or sadness for his absence.

The dude is busy with work, life and everything that makes him Misha. Right now he is risking his life in a country that is at war. Campaigning to clear landmines. My very overprotective parasocial self wants to scream the dude that he should be the hell out of there, but that will be to negate what makes him who he is and what makes me love him so.

Jibcon is the most wonderful time of the year for me. Not having my dosis of Cockles will be sad. But I prefer to wait till Purcon 8 next year. Knowing that by then, he may be an even better human being, happy as a father and accomplished on his career and personal causes.
